Acceptance, the Sly Man's Pill

On the Fourth way acceptance is an important keyword. It was also called “the sly man’s pill” There is a lot that can be said about this word.

What is it that you need to accept?

Who you are.

Now, that may already be difficult, because many people do not know themselves. The ancient Oracle of Delphi advised every seeker to “Know Thyself”. Have you ever heard the Serenity prayer? This little meditation goes like this:

"God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference."

Things you cannot change belong to your fate. This is the basic stuff of your life like time and circumstances of your birth, parents, and tendencies that you are born with like genes and talents, psychological type (essence).

Things you can change are all the things in yourself that are obstacles to reaching your full potential, like for instance the habit of expressing negative emotions. The Wisdom to know the difference comes from studying and applying Knowledge like the Law of Attraction or the Fourth way. And it does take courage to start thinking for yourself.

Where you are now in relation to where you want to be.

Your starting point. And of course, your starting point is always the moment you find yourself. NOW!

Others.

It is an interesting phenomenon that the more you can accept yourself, the more you can accept others. This is part of the law of Allowing.
